Ryan Unansgt, Romeo Music Consultant/Band Director from Colorado and Mark Conaway, Romeo Educational Consultant/ Band Director will demonstrate the latest designs and benefits of the Pearl/KMI Mallet Station and various types of alternative percussion pads. They will show a wide range of basic to advanced methods of adapting percussion controllers, software, and hardware and will highlight Logic Pro X’s MainStage software and PreSonus’ computer interfaces and other audio solutions. Mark will also discuss microphone techniques for the field as well.


Ryan Unansgt, Romeo Music Consultant/Band Director from Colorado

ryan2.pngRyan Unangst received his Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado where he performed in the top Wind, Orchestral, and Percussion Ensembles. He's been both a performer and instructor for the Blue Knights Drum Corps and Percussion Ensemble, and taught music k-12 in northern Colorado for 5 years, including 3 years as a percussion instructor at Fossil Ridge High School, where he's specialized in electronic instruments and live sound applications. Ryan prides himself on creating practical solutions in electronics for ensembles that serve students and instructors.



Mark Conaway, Romeo Educational Consultant/ Band Director

Mark Conaway is in his 24th year of Music Education and Director of Bands at Sunnyvale High School, Sunnyvale Texas. At Sunnyvale High School, the “Raider Pride” ensembles have consistently received sweepstake ratings at both UIL Concert & Sight-reading Contest and UIL Marching Contest. The Sunnyvale Bands have placed multiple years as “TMEA 3A Honor Band Finalist”, and has numerous times represented well at UIL Area B Marching Contest FinalsMr. Conaway holds membership affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Association of Texas Small School Bands, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Mu, International Bandmasters Fraternity. Mr. Conaway lives in Historic Downtown Forney, Texas along with wife Christie, and twin sons Grant and Preston.
